April 5th God's Word For YOU!  "So shall my word be that goes forth out of my mouth: it shall not
return to me void, but shall accomplish that which I please and purpose, & it shall prosper in the
thing for which I sent it". For the word that God speaks is alive & full of power, sharper than any
two-edged sword.
Hebrews 4:12  Saints, stay close to God!  Blessings, Pastor Norm

March 29th Prayer For Others!  Lord, you have chosen specific people to be a part of my life.
Thank you for family and friends, casual acquaintances and strangers I meet only once.  They are
all part of Your plan and all in my life for a reason.  Bless them today, Lord, as you meet their
needs and guide them according to Your will.  Near or far, together or apart, keep friends and
loved ones close until we meet again.  Blessings, Pastor Norm

March 22nd PRAYER!  One of Satan’s most effective weapons is causing us to feel worthlessness
before God.  Scripture shatters this fear by boldly proclaiming that you and I have freedom in
Christ to approach the very throne of God in Prayer.
When YOU go to the Lord, do not be meek and embarrassed.  Instead bow before Him and rejoice.
‘Lord Jesus, I praise your name.  You are my life.  I thank you that I can come to you as your
child, confident that you are going to answer my prayer.  I praise your name.’
Know saints that Prayer changes things.  There is power in Prayer!
Blessings, Pastor Norm

March 15th SEEK THE LORD!  “I my people who are called by my Name will humble themselves
and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and will
forgive their sin and heal their Land.”  11 Chronicles 7:14
Dear ones whatever things are noble, whatever things are just, whatever things are pure whatever
things are lovely, whatever things are of good report, if there is any virtue and if there is anything
praise worthy – meditate on these things.  Philippians 4:8        Blessings, Pastor Norm

March 8th KNOWLEDGE IS POWER!
A most important question:  If a person dies, shall they live again?  Our Lord answers this
question in John 11:25&26.  "I am the resurrection and the life.  He who believes in me, though he
may die he shall live.  And who ever lives and believes in me shall never die".  And how about
this; for those of us who feel as though we are carrying the weight of the world on our
shoulders.  Psalm 55:22 tells us to cast our burdens on the Lord and he shall sustain you; He shall
never permit the righteous to be moved.  As the psalmist came to realize the best curse in times of
trouble is not to run away from them, but to cast the burden of them upon the Lord.

I'm not the one who said it Saints - but God Almighty.

March 1st  GEMS OF SCRIPTURE TO CARRY CLOSE TO YOUR HEART!

Faith is substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen.  Hebrews 11:1

He that comes to God must believe that He is, and that He is a rewarder of them that diligently
seek Him.  Hebrews 11:6

If any of you lack wisdom, let them ask of God that gives to all literally.  But let them ask in faith,
not wondering.  For they that waiver are like a wave of the sea driven by the wind and tossed
about.  James 1:5&6

As you have therefore received Christ Jesus, the Lord, so therefore walk in Him.  Rooted and built
up in Him and established in the faith as you have been taught abounding with Thanksgiving.
1 Colossians 2:6&7

For by Grace are you saved by faith and not of yourselves!
It is the gift of God!  Ephesians 2:8

We are all children of God by faith in Christ Jesus. Galatians 3:26

Blessings, Pastor Norm

Feb. 22nd And we know Saints, for Scriptures tell us in Romans 8:28 that 'All things work
together for good to them that Love God, to them who are called according to His purpose'.
Again in verse 31, 'If God be for us, who can be against us'.  And verse 35 says 'Who shall
separate us from the Love of Christ?  Shall tribulation or distress or persecution, or famine or
nakedness or peril or Sword?'  NO!  Read on Saints, verses 37 - 39 say 'Nothing shall be able to
separate us from the Love of God which is in Christ Jesus our Lord'.        Blessings,  Pastor Norm

Feb. 15th The Character of God remains the same.  He is always consistent and unchanging.
How different this is from us, we change, we go up and down.  Sometimes we are faithful and
sometimes we are not, yet He remains the same forever.  This is great news for us, for we need
His Mercy and His Grace.  Thank God that I can come to Him with confidence when I am doing
good and when I am not; knowing His Grace and Mercy is available to me.  Psalms 118:1 tell us,
“Oh give thanks unto the Lord for He is good; for His Mercy endures for ever".
Blessings,  Pastor Norm

Feb. 8th Prayer changes things and produces peace through our prayers.  We can cast our prayers
upon the Lord.  Pray and do not worry for as long as we are worrying we are not trusting God.
It is only by trusting, by loving faith and confidence in the Lord that we are able to enter into his
rest and enjoy the peace that transcends all understanding.  Saints give it all to the Lord and let
Him take care of YOU!        Blessings,  Pastor Norm

Feb. 1st God Hears You!

When you pray, believe that God hears you.  He has told us that He does.  We may ask anything
of Him knowing that if it is in His will, He listens, He hears us and is true to grant us our request.
Know that God loves us and desires His very best for us.  He tells us He delights when we come to
Him with our praise and our petitions.  We can come before Him with confidence.  But know this:
Satan does not want us to have such confidence.  I therefore, encourage you to go humbly and
boldly before the King and with reverence in the name of Jesus, ask and your prayers will be
heard and answered.        Blessings, Pastor Norm

Jan. 25th Prayer is as old as man.  It is practiced in some form by all men of all faiths.  It is a rare
privilege to pray because it brings us into close fellowship with God, admitting our need for Him
and our utter dependence upon Him.  John 16:7 "If you abide in me and my words abide in you,
you shall ask what you will and it will be given unto you."  The Bible is filled with answered
prayer from Genesis to Revelation. You are commanded to pray and God has promised to
answer.  Jeremiah 33:3 "Call into me and I will answer you and show you great and mighty
things."  Saints, this is a promise from the Almighty God.  Put Him to the test and revile in His
answer.  Remember to Thank and Praise Him.        Blessings,  Pastor Norm

Jan. 18th IN THE POWER OF THE NAME OF JESUS Dear Saints, I believe in the Power of the
name of Jesus.  I also believe that when we come to Him with our prayers, that He will answer
them.  Why?  He has told us so.  "Where two or more gather in my name, I will hear and answer".
By faith we pray, by faith we gather together to ask.  Our God is faithful to hear and answer.

***Here at Black Canyon Community Church we believe in the power of prayer.  We practice this
faith that God loves us and desires His blessed will for our lives.  The doors of our church are
open every day of the week from 9:00 am until noon for prayer.  There is Men's Prayer time every
Saturday morning.  Join Us and see what personal prayer time will do.

Jan. 11th "And when the time comes, you will ask nothing of Me.  I assure most solemnly, I will
tell you that my Father will grant you whatever you ask in My name".  John 16:24
Our prayers aren't answered because we don't pray boldly.  We need to pray more specifically
and have the boldness to come before God and really ask Him for what we want and not be
ashamed to make our report known.  Remember Saints, God loves to answer our bold prayers
made in the name of Jesus.        Blessings,  Pastor Norm

Jan. 4th WHAT IS PRAYER?  It seems that the first question we must ask is this:  What is prayer?
The simple answer is this:  Prayer is talking with God.  We pray when we open our heart to the
Almighty.  As simple as this is, it is also something people need to hear.  Too many people feel
that prayer is a certain sound . . .  Shakespearean English, rich in theological terminology very
often spoken VERY loudly.  Others feel prayer is something that takes place in a certain place or
with a certain posture.  But none of those things are requirements for true prayer.  In fact, you
can sound holy and not be doing anything other than talking to yourself.

I love to share the story Howard Hendricks tells of a young man who met Christ after many years
of life in the world.  After his conversion he went to his first prayer meeting.  Everyone was
getting up and uttering their flowery (and maybe showy) prayers.  Finally, this new convert stood
to pray and said, "Lord, this is Mel.  I'm not sure whether you remember me or not . . . I met you
last Tuesday night.  I just wanted to say . . . well . . . Thank you for changing my life."  And then
he sat down.  The simplicity and honesty of that prayer brought tears to the eyes of many.  I
suspect it brought a smile to the face of the Father, as well.  True prayer is honest, humble and
personal.  Amen !       Blessings,  Pastor Norm
